Data Analyst Intern

Contracts are the atomic unit of business - everything important that a company does involves a contract: sales, purchases, hires, everything. The process for making a contract happen isn’t that different from the software lifecycle: a cross functional group collaborates on a technical document that essentially needs to be executable - just in a courtroom instead of a computer. Most legal teams are still stuck doing things manually, emailing versions of these documents around seeking approval and revisions with no easy way to automate workflows. Simple questions like “what is blocking this contract?” can be really difficult to answer since the information is locked in someone’s inbox. That’s where Ironclad comes in.

Ironclad is the #1 contract lifecycle management platform for innovative companies. L’Oréal, Staples, Mastercard, and other leading innovators use Ironclad to collaborate and negotiate on contracts, accelerate contracting while maintaining compliance, and turn contracts into critical carriers of operational business intelligence. It’s the only platform flexible enough to handle every type of contract workflow, whether a sales agreement, an HR agreement, or a complex NDA. The company was named one of the 20 Rising Stars on the Forbes 2019 Cloud 100 list, and is backed by leading investors like Accel, Y Combinator, Sequoia, and Bond.

As a Data Analyst Intern, you will identify business problems and conduct data analysis to verify solutions. You’ll be building dashboards, reports, and models that will inform key product and strategic initiatives. This is a chance to bring a two thousand year old profession into the digital age by arming modern legal teams with the data they need to scale.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with product and customer success teams to identify important questions around product adoption and customer reporting use cases
  • Develop compelling dashboards and automated reporting related to key performance metrics
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis using SQL and/or Python, R
  • Further improve query performance, data documentation, and data schema
  • Conduct analysis to explore ad-hoc strategic questions related to product adoption, user growth, renewals, and pricing
  • Act as a thought partner by gaining insights from data exploration results and develop recommendations for your stakeholders
  • Learn quickly by asking questions, collaborating with mentors and cross-functional teammates effectively, and communicating the status of your work clearly

What we look for:

  • A rising senior or masters student actively pursuing a degree in a STEM field (statistics, economics, mathematics, computer science, or related fields), or have previous experience in an analyst role
  • Proficient in SQL (experience with a scripting language like Python or R a plus)
  • Experienced with data visualization and communication
