WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Landscape knowledge:

  • Gain a deep understanding of the food e-commerce landscape, consumer behavior, main areas of friction and opportunity

Customer knowledge:

  • Leverage data, customer research and competitive research to support product ideas and advocate on behalf of the customer
  • Analyze customer behavior and develop hypotheses for A/B testing plans to optimize browsing and shopping experience. Use quantitative and qualitative data to inform product decision making

Product leadership:

  • Define the essentials of a business case for any product development: use cases, KPI targets, financial benefit, costs and risks, competitor landscape, industry standards
  • Brainstorm and research approach to implement prioritized feature. Write clear product specifications that are understood by all key stakeholders
  • Define, implement, and report on KPIs when releasing new features to quantify the impact of the change. Lead monitoring of KPIs to support the ongoing optimization of our e-commerce funnel
  • Lead the prioritization of product features in conjunction with CEO. Lead coordination across design, engineering, marketing, and other business areas to define, implement and launch prioritized features
  • Implement product management workflows and frameworks to support the company's growing needs. Teach frameworks to other team members that may collaborate in product feature design and prioritization

Testing and releasing:

  • Launch features when ready, document and train customer facing team on using such features
  • Oversee testing with engineering team to ensure bug free releases

Other:

  • Organize daily and weekly schedules to accommodate for the Engineering team being in a different timezone

YOU ARE/HAVE...:

  • Passionate about food, home-cooking, and celebrating and championing Asian American cuisines and food producers
  • 4+ years of digital product owner/ manager for e-commerce products (high-growth startup experience preferred), and demonstrated track-record of leading the development of features that are critical to the company's success
  • Empathic and customer focused; adept at reading people's needs and understanding customers. An advocate for the customer and their experience on our site
  • Highly analytical; naturally drawn to make decisions levering data and research to ensure we are addressing customer needs and solving their problems
  • Detail-oriented; natural planner, considering every step between product ideation to launch with granular timelines, risks, and dependencies
  • Nimble and flexible; happy to work with a range of timelines and pivot when things don’t go as planned
  • Ability to independently identify the root cause of an issue and come up with possible short term work-around and long term fixes
  • A self starter that is resourceful and able to act autonomously; not afraid of getting your hands dirty or to be the first to tackle a new challenge
  • Excellent communication skills; effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
