Requirements: BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferably with 5-10 years of industrial experience.

Company: Susteon is a technology startup in the Research Triangle Park (Raleigh-Durham area), North Carolina, which is developing and deploying breakthrough technologies that can impact climate change. These technologies are focused on CO₂ capture and utilization, and H₂ production. Susteon has partnered with a number of national labs and universities to lead R&D in these domains to tackle the climate change imperative.

Role: Susteon has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer. This position plays a key role in supporting the development of current and future work. This role will primarily focus on our direct air capture technology.

Desired Technical Skills:

• Experience with designing low-pressure enclosures, air handling systems, and support structures
• Experience in component mechanical design, stress and fatigue analysis, and simulation
• Experience in systems integration, assembly, installation, and on-site testing
• Strong understanding of material selection, compatibility, and optimization
• Proficiency and experience in using three-dimensional CAD solid modeling software packages such as AutoCAD or Solidworks
• Proficiency and experience in using finite element analysis to simulate thermal stresses and material deformation using software packages such as ANSYS, COMSOL, Solidworks, and/or Autodesk Inventor
• Knowledge of commercial manufacturing and fabrication methods
• Understanding of system scale-up from pilot to industrial scale

• Support preparation of research proposals
• Support preparation of invention disclosures and patent applications
• Support laboratory/pilot plant testing for the ongoing projects
