The Opportunity at Volta Charging
We’re seeking a Product Manager for our Charging Systems group to deliver high quality requirements for AC and DC based EV charging products. You’ll use your extensive product experience to deliver complex technical product requirements spanning hardware, software, and cross-functional teams. You bring domain knowledge from the tech, transportation, and/or energy industries combined with fresh innovative thinking.
 
You are constantly striving for the best experience across all products and bring a strong strategic vision grounded in market understanding, data and insights. You’re adept at design thinking, business case definition, stakeholder management, and taking your products to market. You enjoy identifying unmet customer needs to improve existing products and create brand new ones. 
 
We are looking for passionate, and intellectually curious product leaders who have the ability to invent with empathy, ask hard questions and leverage market insight to bring your strategic vision to life. This position will be based out of our San Francisco headquarters and will report to the CTO.

In your first 90 days, you will

  • Have a full understanding of current charging programs within the charging systems group, how the team works, who is responsible for what aspects and get a good grasp on the way the team works now and what improvements can be made
  • Implement observed improvements, begin researching new products and create documentation using a template to be updated over time
  • Produce an initial technical PRD for either an already under development program or a new program; begin work with TPM team to implement

After twelve months, you will have accomplished

  • Researching, documenting, communicating, and planning out the roadmap for a given area of charging systems
  • Taking in company goals and applying to new technical products, doing bottoms up analyses along the way
  • Ensuring the larger team will understands when products need to be delivered and with what features

What you bring to Volta Charging

  • 5+ years of experience as a product manager in a related field, such as EVs, EV charging, e-mobility, etc
  • Experience in software development life cycle like waterfall and agile and hardware development life cycle
  • Experience driving product requirements spanning hardware and software
  • Expert with Jira & Confluence and comfortable in multiple product management tools
  • Experience with electric vehicles and electric vehicle supply equipment is a plus
