Role Description
 
As a Finance Associate, you will be expected to analyze the financial and technical feasibility of EV charging hub projects across multiple sectors and customer use cases. You will coordinate with finance and Company leadership to incorporate cost estimates, energy and tariff structures, federal and state incentive information, and other critical assumptions into the Company's sophisticated financial models. You will manage budget forecasting and analysis, corporate financial reporting, and fund reporting under the direction of finance leadership. You will play a critical role in both (1) negotiations with fleet customers on partnership deals on financial and pricing matters and (2) supporting capital raising activities for corporate activities and project development and operating costs. The associate will possess a strong desire to support the Company's finance department, including supporting tax equity financing and business development efforts.  The ability to work independently and as a team member are critical, as well as the desire and innovative mindset to operate as an important contributor within a fast-paced, early stage company environment.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Compile budget, forecasts and other financial reports for the Company and funds managed by the Company
  • Be responsible for financial planning, analysis and projection of projects under the direction of the SVP Finance and Structuring
  • Forecast financial pro formas to determine capital budgeting and return profiles for project investment decision making by Company leadership
  • Develop and manage financial analysis with product and strategy teams to determine feasibility of product offerings
  • Be responsible for market research analysis, including staying up to date on financial market developments and deal structures
  • Research, manage and communicate federal, state, and local incentives for EV charging and other energy assets
  • Explain complex financial information to non-financial personnel
  • Assist with negotiations with fleet customers on partnership deals
  • Assist in capital raising activities to support corporate activities and project investments, including model generation, due diligence management and documentation review
  • Generate ad hoc analysis and reports from quantified data to assist Company leadership

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in banking or finance at renewable energy or sustainability operating companies
  • Bachelor's degree required ideally within a Financial discipline
  • Knowledge of structured and/or project finance a plus
  • Experienced in financial analyst tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, SQL a plus
  • Mobility, real estate, energy or project development background
  • Expert-level analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Creativity to transform raw data into presentations with an eye on design and accuracy, while conveying the intended value proposition
