Wild Earth is seeking a Technical Project Coordinator to join our growing product team. This role will primarily focus on managing collaborative technical projects with external and internal partners. You will work closely with the Chief Product Officer to identify impactful projects and understand its applications and fit in the realm of pet nutrition and health. You will evaluate those initiatives' potential to become new product ideas and pursue each project to completion. Your work will directly feed our product pipeline and contribute to our overall strategy and success.

This position is fully remote, but will be based out of California.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute technical initiatives that feed the product roadmap and deliver on Wild Earth’s mission to create better pet food for pets, the planet and all animals.
  • Coordinate scientific partnerships with key external collaborators in the fields of pet health, food science, and food biotechnology (e.g. cultured meat and cellular agriculture)
  • Evaluate projects based on cost, timing, feasibility and growth potential
  • Support the product development team by establishing research collaborations with subject matter experts to help drive science-based product development
  • Manage projects and set goals, milestones and timelines, and ensure steady progress from all stakeholders
  • Deep-dive into the regulatory framework for the specific projects you pursue in order to weigh in on feasibility, timing and risk
  • Create risk assessments and cost/benefit analyses for all proposed projects
  • Juggle multiple projects across scientific disciplines
  • Work collaboratively with a cross-functional set of stakeholders to gather the right information for each project, test assumptions, co-create deliverables, accelerate execution and ultimately unlock value for Wild Earth
  • Wear many hats and flex to project workload where needed

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Solid understanding of basic biology, biochemistry, nutrition & health-related sciences. B.S. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field required.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with a proven track record of results - excellent project management skills are a must
  • Strong structuring and analytical skills with the ability to set up efficient processes where none previously exist
  • Entrepreneurial drive and the ability to achieve goals in a fast paced, dynamic environment
