COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, INDUSTRY

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a manager focused on the fintech industry to join the communications team at Current. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded storyteller with an ability to creatively tell a company’s story externally through multiple touchpoints, including securing relevant industry media placements, writing and developing thoughtful press pitches and media materials, writing and editing website and original blog content and staying on top of relevant news cycles to identify new opportunities in both national and local New York media.

The Communications Manager should have an ability to own projects from start to finish, including research and reporting with a data-driven approach to providing coverage recommendations. The ideal candidate is familiar with the fintech industry landscape, has experience and skills in working cross-functionally with internal teams including product, design, technology and people operations in order to creatively tell the story of Current in line with the company’s mission, values and goals, including providing internal communications support for PR initiatives to employees.

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 4 years experience in corporate communications, ideally in-house at a B2C tech company
• Well-versed in the fintech industry landscape 
• Highly organized and proactive, with an ability to execute and own plans from inception to completion
• Excellent writing, editing and grammatical skills 
• Experience working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
• Established media contacts, particularly in fintech industry publications
• Experience working with content management systems, measurement and listening tools such as Contentful, Muckrack, Sprinklr, etc
• Knowledge of NYC tech scene a plus
