We partner with teams that build and own the best-in-class solutions offered across PayPal to find common ways of expressing PayPal’s products to our customers.
Our focus is teaming with smart engineers who are passionate about their craft and excited to build software for our unique solutions in the space. Communication is key to our process, and we don't want to hinder it with walls. Our teams are geographically diverse and adept at collaborating across long distances. Some of our teams utilize pair programming, which means you always have another set of eyes to help you; teams that don’t utilize pair programming still emphasize collaboration as key to building quality solutions.
The Role:
We are looking for a passionate, highly talented, self-driven individual to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for building a strong developer community and being a passionate evangelist and advocate of PayPal with the external developer and partners.
You will play a pivotal role in building the next generation of PayPal’s developer experience for our customers. You will build tools, utilities, sites leveraging APIs and contribute code to open source. You will be responsible for driving adoption of our platform thru various developer outreach program like conference, blogs, videos etc. You will also build a strong internal community through new hire training and certification programs.

• Drive your team’s engineering efforts and demonstrate ownership of features, projects, modules, and services that you and your team deliver
• Play a key role in our broader architectural decision-making processes

• Participate and drive support in external developer forum
• Participate/Speak in conferences, blogs and create developer advocacy videos
• Develop software prototypes and POCs
• Develop reference/demo and test applications leveraging Paypal APIs and SDKs

• Continuously learn and Keep up to date with competition and market
• Participate actively in public discussions and other publications
• Create short and informative video tutorials
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with any and all non-technical stakeholders (Product, Design, Analytics, Legal, Marketing, etc.)
• Work with your Agile team to achieve shared understanding around the new products and features under consideration
• Actively contribute to our automated test suite to enable speedy and reliable continuous integration
• Bring fresh ideas for how to continuously improve our software and your team
What we look for :
• You have a Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, a related field of study, or 5+ years of related professional experience
• Expertise in computer science fundamentals like data structures, complexity analysis, object-oriented design and algorithm
• You are skilled in writing scalable software systems and familiar with topics and technologies like containers, distributed computing, routing, cluster management, etc.
• You care about writing high-quality code, and you've written your fair share of automated tests to back up your code
• You're passionate about creating compelling user experiences
• You're ultimately a problem solver, and you enjoy working both independently and collaboratively to identify the root cause of any issue
• Experience in scripting and prototyping and demonstrated developing POCs
• Expertise in server side application development using Java, Go
• Have experience presenting in conferences/social media and have a passion for sharing and supporting
• Keep up to date on industry trends and technologies and apply them quickly to our products.
