Job Title: Director of Customer Marketing

Position Summary: Reporting to the Head of Growth, the Director of CRM and Lifecycle Marketing will be responsible for maximizing engagement with Goldin’s user base - both buyers and sellers - through the cultivation of personalized and meaningful relationships. They will create the end-to-end lifecycle strategy and lead execution and optimization of product-triggered, event-triggered, and campaign-based messages throughout every step of the customer lifecycle, from activation to engagement, and retention to referrals. They will oversee the development of all CRM programs, channels (email, SMS, push notifications, retargeting, direct mail, etc.), and budget, including implementation and ongoing management of internal and 3rd party tools. They will develop future resource needs to match the growth of the business and recruit, develop and retain a world class team. They will work closely across departments, including Product, Technology, BD & Content, Analytics, Finance, Customer Support, and others.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and manage the overall CRM and loyalty strategy for Goldin’s user base of buyers and sellers
  • Foster an inquisitive and collaborative culture that encourages inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Lead the selection and implementation process of Goldin’s future CRM tool in partnership with Product and Engineering
  • Develop and manage the holistic CRM budget including discounts & promotion. 
  • Develop and take full ownership of customer journeys for multi-channel retention, growth and re-activation lifecycle campaigns (email, SMS, push notifications, retargeting, direct mail, etc.)
  • Partner with the BD & Content team to maximize customer engagement with relevant content and ensure consistent messaging & branding across all touch points
  • Partner with the Analytics team to enhance audience segmentation, CLTV, and campaign performance reporting & optimization
  • Define measurable KPIs and regularly review campaigns against strategic objectives
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and propose recommendations for further enhancements to the CRM activity
  • Recruit, manage and develop direct reports
  • Own and manage special projects as needed

Note: Scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands


  • 8+ years of experience in CRM and digital marketing in the consumer retail space; sports memorabilia, sports tech, marketplace and/or auction platform experience desired but not required
  • Experience with sophisticated multi-channel marketing solutions, with practical working knowledge of targeting, dynamic publishing, contact management, journey building, triggers, sequencing, and a/b testing
  • Analytical, data-driven approach with an extensive track record in database marketing, profiling and segmentation
  • Experience implementing and managing CRM automation platforms like Braze and Salesforce
  • Experience developing and deploying CRM and Loyalty Strategies
  • Experience managing teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management
  • Experience working with 3rd parties, e.g., design agencies and printers
  • Ability to interpret and act upon complex data to develop and share insights and make recommendations through both written and verbal reports/presentations
