DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as the lead videographer for the club. Travels with the team on road trips to shoot standups and interviews for the teams RSN, as well as feature video and select game action   
  • Travels to Peoria, AZ for 7 weeks to shoot and edit daily interviews, features and game highlights and live streams from the Padres Spring Training complex.  Shoots on green screen and studio with players
  • Shoots and edits TV commercials, in-house training, sales, community, and sales videos. Concepts and shots/edits music videos, feature packages, and player features for the in-ballpark videoboard, webisodes, and long form programs.  Provides video to external media outlets 
  • Works in conjunction with the Production staff to execute game day production and with producers for social media content, including shooting and editing features, community, player, and team videos 
  • Collaborates with the team’s Social/Content team and other entertainment and production personnel on graphical elements, videos, long form and special projects for sales and marketing
  • Serves on crew for production video shoots as needed, fulfills other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIRMENTS:  Must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalent of 4 years in video production/video editing or equivalent camera work experience
  • Camera production experience in ENG for a university/college or professional team, live control room environment at a TV station, production house, or equivalent entertainment venue.  Must have expert knowledge of cameras, all production shoot gear including lighting, microphones, lenses, various cameras (Sony FS5, RED, GoPro Cameras)
  • Must have expert knowledge and a minimum of 4 years-experience with the following software:  Adobe Creative Suite to include Premiere. AfterEffects and Photoshop a plus. 
  • Possesses creative and artistic skills for shooting sports, with strong data management skills  
  • Able to travel for work over extended periods of time and work flexible hours including evening, weekend, holidays, and long periods of consecutive days (on team road trips) and at Spring Training   
  • Possesses intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office for the company-wide network, including Word, Excel and Outlook and Access.  Prior experience and ability to work with standard office equipment (copier, printers, fax, telephones)
  • Possesses good working knowledge about the Padres’ organization, its personnel, history, other departments and their roles Ability to write and edit professional documents, scripts, training materials, tutorials
  • Excellent ability to work with and maintain positive work relationships with co-workers, managers, and executives

  • Strong ability to work well with co-workers in a team environment
  • Minimum physical requirements:  able to bend or stoop; to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
