The gist

The healthcare system of the future won’t ride on the rails of the past. We’re building digital infrastructure to connect data to the point of care, and we’re accelerating the path to a higher performing healthcare system together with some of the biggest and boldest organizations in the industry.

We need a product marketing manager to help guide our product strategy, tell our story, and successfully deliver technology that is high impact for our customers and massively scalable. This function is new and growing, and this is an opportunity to work alongside our executive, product, and commercial leadership teams at a critical moment for our company.

The full story

Why Vim?

We’re building the digital infrastructure for the future of US healthcare. We use novel technology to seamlessly connect payers to providers at healthcare’s last mile: clinical and operational workflow at the point of care. Our products address critical cost, quality, and experience levers and our differentiated technology enables dramatically faster and more flexible deployments for our payer and provider partners. The result is direct clinical workflow connections for payers, radically lower burden for providers, and measurably accelerated performance across value-based partnerships.

We put mission and culture at front and center of everything we do. We’re a tribe of like-minded optimists and we pride ourselves on experimentation, intellectual diligence, and earnest hard work. We are all owner operators at Vim, meaning we’re transparent, accountable, and relentlessly focused on results for our customers and our business.

The role

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial product visionary and marketing athlete to join a growing and critical function. Our technology and our business are novel - there aren’t many companies out there like us. That’s an opportunity, and it’s also a challenge. We need a sharp mind with an empirical but ambitious worldview to help us plan, position, and deliver our technology and products to market. This role will work directly with our executive team as well as our product and commercial teams and our customers and users, and will have an outsized impact on the direction of our business.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Channel product and market insights into product strategy and quarterly roadmap planning in partnership with our product management and leadership team
  • Develop compelling positioning and messaging that differentiates our products and services, working directly with customers, prospects, and internal leadership
  • Perform competitive research to build expertise on our landscape and how the field is positioned
  • Drive go-to-market strategies and manage product launches, including training and educating our payer and provider sales teams
  • Partner closely with product managers to develop and test product market hypotheses that will drive our business strategy
  • Support commercial asset development to enhance our sales cycles
  • Manage activities with our Advisory Board and other national expert advisors
  • Lead ongoing refinements of our pricing models, including performance-based pricing constructs

Ideal candidates look like this

  • Highly independent: you take ownership of challenges and you thrive in ambiguity; you carefully research and recommend solutions and drive execution autonomously
  • Interpersonal skills: you’re a great communicator, generally a people person, and you thrive in a fast-paced team environment with high performance standards
  • Can-do attitude: you bring a strong desire and drive to tackle complex problems; you like to kick down doors that others might turn away from
  • Flexible perspective: you can see the big picture while staying detail-oriented; you can zoom in and out with ease
  • Driven by a ‘why’: personally dedicated to improving US healthcare; it’s not going to be easy, so you’ll need a personal commitment to the mission

Success factors

Must have:

  • 2+ years of Product Marketing experience or equivalent in growth stage healthcare technology companies
  • 4+ years experience in innovative or new entrant healthcare organizations, ideally those focused on digital health, information technology, and/or value-based care
  • Demonstrated analyst mindset, systems thinking ability, and strategic research abilities
  • History of working in at least semi-quantitative or empirical environments where you have had your hands directly on the spreadsheet and where you have personally driven product market experimentation
  • Proven written and spoken communication skills and ability to create effective content quickly
  • Excellent storytelling capabilities and ability to tie complex and technical themes together succinctly

These are a plus:

  • Experience or expertise in digital healthcare SaaS companies, especially those focused on health plan innovation or provider enablement
  • Deep and rigorous knowledge of US healthcare payment and delivery models and operating environments, including hands on experience with health plans, providers, or other stakeholders seeking to change their businesses in the context of system level change
  • Demonstrated experience as part of an early product marketing function at a growth stage technology company
