We're looking for a VP, Platform & Labs to lead the strategic direction and vision of our platform here at Zapier. Are you excited to scale a product used by millions of customers in a 100% remote company? Then keep reading!

As the VP, Platform & Labs, you will have responsibility for driving innovation strategy within Zapier. You’ll be responsible for both enhancing and managing our existing product platform to make innovation within Zapier easier while also directly managing Labs teams using the platform to create new value for our customers.

Ideally, you will have prior experience driving the strategy for a technical product portfolio and using those platforms to drive product innovation for users. Most importantly, you will possess a strong inner drive to delight users, enjoy working with some of the finest minds in the industry, and truly be a part of something unique that will have a lasting impact on the Zapier product.

About You

You're technical and innovative. You have experience both managing technical software products or platforms and using those platforms to drive product innovation for users. You're a technologist with an eye for the future.

You've managed user-facing platforms. Specifically, you have experience managing a platform that external users or developers have built on top of. You understand some of the unique maintenance and scaling challenges that platforms face.

You're multi-disciplinary. You have experience managing and directing people who work across the entire product lifecycle.

You are a strategic and inspiring leader. You have influenced at the executive level and have helped to inform the product and business strategy of the company, but you can also lead the direction and vision of the Labs & Platform teams.

You are an expert at building relationships across the organization. We practice the EPD model here at Zapier, meaning that Engineering, Product, and Design are all equally hitched in decision-making, and each function is involved and aligned from a product’s inception to its launch. You're comfortable working in an environment where you'll lean heavily on your Engineering and Design leaders, while also working across the organization with Marketing, Customer Support & Success, etc. to drive the right solutions for our customers.

You are a skilled mentor and coach. You realize the best way to grow a team is by helping them to grow themselves. You're able to effectively share your experience and provide a clear framework for growth.

You are product, business, and customer focused. You are able to relate to our customers and partners to provide and translate business vision into product vision in a simple and clear manner.

You're a skilled written communicator. Zapier is a 100% remote team and writing is our primary means of communication. You'll use written summaries and reports to communicate vision, strategy, plans, findings, and results to the engineering and full Zapier team.

You're a champion for doing things efficiently. At Zapier, the work you do will have a disproportionate impact on the business. We believe in systems and processes that let us scale our impact to be larger than ourselves.

Things You Might Do

  • Establish, maintain, and grow our ability to innovate and create new business units
  • Make innovation faster and easier by enhancing our existing product platform
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Design leaders to implement strategy
  • Participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle, from definition through deployment and support
  • Maintain a culture of high performance across the Labs & Platform organizations
  • Manage discipline around measurement and reporting of product/market fit of new products
  • Recruit world class talent
  • Participate as an executive in the general operation of the business
  • Travel 5-10% of the year to our bi-annual company retreats based in North America
  • As a part of Zapier's all-hands philosophy, help customers via support to ensure they have the best experience possible

*While we take care of our international folks as best we can, currently, healthcare and retirement plans are only available to UK, Canada, and US-based employees.
