What makes this company unique and exciting?
By separating physical location from economic opportunity, Panther will radically expand the number of remote jobs in the world and dramatically improve the quality of life for millions, if not billions, of people.

About Panther

Panther is the all-in-one platform to employ and pay global teams. We take care of all the heavy lifting involved in international hiring, payroll, benefits, and compliance, so companies can employ incredible people from around the world, and let their employees work from anywhere — without any of the red tape.

Some of Silicon Valley’s sharpest minds are funding us to be the bedrock of global, distributed teams. We’re funded by Tribe Capital, Addition Capital, Eric Ries, Soma Capital, and founders and executives from Stripe, InVision, SpaceX, Plaid, Drift, Fast, and more.

The Role

The Global Finance Lead is a core leadership position charged with developing, running, and scaling Panther's global financial infrastructure and operations. Through collaboration with EOR Operations, this person will be responsible for building financial infrastructure, developing relationships with strategic partners/vendors, and optimizing our complex international transactions. Additionally, this role will also act as the primary stakeholder for our Product and Engineering functions as financial operations are integrated into Panther's service platform.

This is not a traditional finance role. We are looking for a dynamic, product and systems-focused individual who understands how technology integrates with financial innovation. By further innovating upon Panther's financial tech stack (APIs, forex, payment capabilities), our customers will enjoy streamlined and cost-effective payments across 160+ countries. Success in this role will be determined by this person's ability to build treasury assets that can support Panther's vision, optimize our operations to minimize costly transactions or FX translations, lead our financial operations as it scales, and maintain strong compliance profiles and risk mitigation strategies.

In this role, you'll get to

  • Build and scale the financial infrastructure of one of the most dynamic, mission-driven startups -- forever changing how companies hire and scale remote teams.
  • Create and operationalize complex global currency distributions across our customers, employees, and subsidiaries.
  • Manage Panther's finance team. Planning the team structure, scaling and hiring as needed, and leading the team to success.
  • Drive corporate financial initiatives (planning, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting) as you leverage your strategic and operational lens to influence our business as well as how we think about finance at Panther.
  • Build frameworks to gain deep insights on how revenue and margin flow across countries, user segments, and mix of products -- comparing to other regions to assess the profitability and strategic value of new and renewed revenue.
  • Lead our international expansion working with Panther leadership and strategic partners.
  • Scale our FP&A processes and manage increasing business complexity as our company expands its product offerings, customer base, and markets served.
  • Lead decision-making around unit economics, pricing, and key contracts.
  • Build and maintain the annual operating plan and monthly operating budgets to deliver on financial and operational targets.
  • Act as the primary stakeholder for our product and engineering teams. Assisting them in integrating and productizing our financial operations.

About you

  • 10+ years in progressive finance roles (fintech and startup experience preferred)
  • MBA and/or CPA, SaaS, or managed marketplace experience a plus
  • Background in corporate finance, venture-backed startups, M&A, or other high-growth, entrepreneurial environments
  • Understanding of and experience with card networks, payment-related products, or other financial services.
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making through data analysis, FP&A, modeling/projecting, or the equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of software capitalization policies.
  • Have led the preparation of internal and external reporting packages for management, auditors, and investors.
  • Enjoy driving continuous improvements in profitability, free cash flow, and operational efficiency
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Effective collaborator with operational teams and stakeholder for product/engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (IFRS experience is a plus), financial statements, and financial modeling
