The Selection & Supply Tech organization is at the core of our Accommodation business. The track consists of ~30 product & tech teams working on 1) providing customers with the best selection of places to stay and 2) providing best in class solutions to help our +2 million accommodation partners run and grow their business with us. 

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Analytics & Data Science Insights to lead a team of ~15 data scientists and analysts to help continue data driven decision making in the domain. In this role you will be responsible both for growing, coaching, mentoring the team and individual talents. And you will have the oversight of the quality of data, analysis, insights and experimentation for this domain.

 As a manager of managers you will develop a broad data science strategy for your teams, across a data product portfolio with high technical and organisational complexity. You are accountable for the craft excellence in your teams' delivery, aligned with company-wide DSI&A requirements. You create business impact through collaborating effectively with business, product & tech teams within and outside of our direct organization. You are a champion of your team members' personal development and career growth.

B. Responsible

 

  • Translate and communicate the vision of leadership to team members and build the Data Science and Analytics roadmaps
  • Manage the managers of a team of data scientists and a team of analysts
  • Manage stakeholders in both product and technology teams
  • Facilitate the prioritization of the workload of the teams and ensure high quality of output
  • Drive implementation and deployment of complex projects
  • Coordinate the deployment of data scientists and analysts from a centralised data science function within the organization
  • Align with centralised data science and data quality efforts across Booking.com and the Accommodation business unit
  • Align with data infrastructure teams and analytics leaders across other business units to share knowledge and collaborate 
  • Coordinate communication about analytics within and outside the track, for the benefit of the wider organization
  • Ensure high quality experiments are being run, and strive for continuous rigor in experiments

 

B.Skilled

  • 3-5+ years experience as manager, plus experience managing managers and managing complex teams in a multidimensional environment
  • Driven and results oriented personality, always open to feedback and always looking for ways to improve own performance
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with proven track record of applying data science to solving complex business problems. Think strategically to identify areas where data science and analytics can make a significant impact on the business 
  • Able to understand details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
  • Able to spot opportunities to drive business growth from their craft. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Expertise in data management, data visualization and quality.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships to work with senior business leaders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, manage, and develop a team
