At Sherpa, our mission is to help travellers move freely around the world, and shift the way the world's leading travel providers think about borders. We are enabling travel companies to regain trust in international travel, and building the next border crossing experience. We are looking for team members who are excited about our mission, committed to personal growth, and ready to take ownership of their work.
Our primary office is in Toronto, and more than half of the team has been onboarded remotely during the COVID-19 lockdowns, in three countries so far.
Sherpa is reinventing the international travel experience.
Our products make it easy to understand border crossing rules and requirements, and apply for a visa while buying other travel products with leading companies (including Expedia, Booking.com, American Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, TripActions, Flight Centre, and many others). We are applying new technology to very old problems, and we need Front End Engineers who are prepared for that challenge. People in this role will work independently, with stream-aligned cross-functional teams, in a very social remote environment.
You'll be responsible for:
You love making new, better experiences a reality. When you look at Sherpa's website you want to understand all of the details of how our products work, and you immediately have ideas for how to make those experiences better. We're looking for someone who:
We are a "remote-first" company. We provide resources to enable everyone in the company to work from home or anywhere in the world (with reliable internet access). We also have an office north of the Distillery District in Toronto, where we have workspaces for daily use or hot-desking.
Our screening starts with three questions:
Once we have established a basic fit based on these questions we will schedule a "Technical Review", where we will assess some basic competencies of the role, using the relevant tools for the role.
If we find a good fit we move on to our interview ladder where we assess the most important component, cultural fit. We ask questions that don't relate to the role, but focus on the type of environment you want to work in, and the values that drive you.
